TchekOn

Vania TchekOn, also known as TchekOn, is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist based in Montreal.

He began his career painting on the streets of Bordeaux, France, in 1999; as a member of several graffiti crews, he went on to found his own collective, with which he remained active for five years; He then pursued an artistic education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, and went on to graduate from the Condé School of Design and the Faculty of Visual Arts in Bordeaux, where he refined his artistic practices and approach.

Multidisciplinary, visual artist, painter, muralist. Drawing, painting, and graffiti are in his artistic DNA, but he is particularly drawn to and explores site-specific installations directly on the street.

Human beings are at the center of his artistic concerns, and more broadly, living beings—beings that are alive and animated by a particular spirituality.

His entire artistic approach is based as much on the process as on the result, but also on the impact; as much on the spontaneous testimony of a reality as on the fruit of a poetic reflection that oscillates between eternity and the fleeting moment.
