Izabelle Duguay

Izabelle Duguay is a visual artist based in Montreal. She has always been interested in the scale of artworks, the power of color, and the connection between natural and urban forms. Her works, including her murals, create a dialogue between the abstract and minimalism, as well as between the geometric and the organic, in a constant exploration of textures and forms. Their primary purpose is to energize or soothe the viewer and to harmonize with the surrounding architecture. She has created more than fifty murals.

With a bachelor’s degree in scenography and a master’s degree in arts education from Concordia University, Izabelle worked as an artist and educator for the organization MU for over seven years. She has also collaborated with creative agencies such as MassivArt, Artgang, La Centrale des Artistes, and Artbanbang, to name a few. Among other projects, she designed and created the mural *Homage to the Permanent Collection* for the Michel de la Chenelière International Workshop for Education and Art Therapy at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. She recently won the provincial public art competition to create the largest mural in Eastern Quebec, which will be produced in the summer of 2023 in Rimouski, Quebec.
